Pesticide registration certificate is valid for five years. Upon expiration of the validity period, those who need to continue to produce pesticides or export pesticides to China shall apply for extension 90 days prior to expiration of the validity period. If the application for extension is not made within the time limit, a new application for registration shall be made. In case of application for alteration or extension, the holder of the pesticide registration certificate shall submit the application form and relevant materials to the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Ministry of Agriculture will review the application materials for registration renewal and make a decision on whether or not to renew the application before the expiration of the validity period. Any hidden danger or risk of safety or effectiveness found during the examination shall be submitted to the Pesticide Registration and Review Committee for review.
